Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a comprehensive design-and-build improvement strategy for its most iconic Burj Khalifa-Dubai Mall Metro Station as part of the authority’s efforts to improve connectivity, capacity, and overall experience within the commute of a traveler. Brand new three-story entrance to replace the current “pod” to link directly with:
- The Dubai Mall pedestrian bridge
- The Rashidiya-direction platform
Lift and escalator improvements:
- Addition of 3 hydraulic lifts and 4 escalators at the main entrance
- 2 additional lifts and escalators serving the UAE Exchange (Sheikh Zayed Road) platform
Expanded concourse:
- New link to the pedestrian bridge
- 10 retail units to enhance commuting convenience
